Why should you study history?

Teaching history involves the responsibility of passing the important events and facts to next generations, which makes the teachers feel very special and important. History is perhaps the most interesting of the social sciences, as it is inclusive of all disciplines. Without knowing the man’s past, you cannot build the present, much less think about the future. Having the tools to understand what is happening right now is necessary to develop actions and plans. Five or more years of intense study give a title but cannot cover all knowledge. The historians’ task is basically to continue learning throughout their whole lives and never stop studying, researching and analyzing the past and the present. The same applies to those who approach history on the side of teaching. They must be constantly updated, as the historical facts interpretation mutate as they advance research on them. Deciding to study is to deciding to enter an exciting universe, where the student will have to draw different positions on the same facts to draw their own conclusions. That is, perhaps, the magic of history. When someone chooses to pursue it professionally, this person should be clear that there will be no exact mathematical formulas or calculations, everything is relative and questionable. In the event that the exercise from systematic training, it should also convey this idea to know your students.

Passion is initiator of many things and is a very important factor in history studying as well. If you are passionate about learning and exploring the past, you will enjoy every lesson and time you spend reading. You cannot make someone love anything, which includes history. However, if history was always your favorite subject and you can imagine yourself learning for the rest of your life, not because you have to but because you want to, this is the ideal choice for you.

If there wasn’t for history teachers and people that knew about the past of our kind, what would we know about our origins, people, country and the whole planet after all? Probably not very much.
